Famous Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci has announced that Manchester City and England attacking midfielder, Jack Grealish, has joined Gucci Town in the Roblox metaverse.
The 27-year-old Man City winger is now the first sports star to join Gucci’s virtual garden. Grealish signed on to become the brand’s ambassador in April 2022 and the entire Roblox experience is part of Grealish’s and Gucci’s partnership.
According to Vogue Business, Roblox users will be welcomed by Grealish’s avatar into Gucci Town’s central piazza from January 24, inviting them to play a football-inspired mini-game modelled off a penalty shootout in the Mini Game Heights section of the experience and coached by Grealish.

“We conceived Gucci Town to be a persistent, ever-evolving digital space for our community within the Roblox metaverse. As with our first chapter when we brought the Gucci Garden to life and then with Miley Cyrus’s visit to Gucci World, we are looking to combine a digital and physical experience for our visitors,” says a Gucci spokesperson.
Merging Football and Fashion
The footballer’s avatar is dressed in the virtual version of Gucci’s “Good Game” capsule which came out in November last year. It’s a move that not only combines sports and fashion but also allows Gucci to promote its clothing among younger audiences.
The game ends with “GG”, or “good game”, the colloquial sign-off gamers usually use to acknowledge one another, especially in competitive games like battle royale or FIFA and many other online titles with PvP.
While not many items are available for purchase just yet, Roblox users can purchase the player’s iconic hairstyle from the Gucci Store.
And although he’s not the first celebrity to enter the Roblox metaverse, Grealish is the latest and perhaps the England star’s appearance could pave the way for more football players to make appearances in the Roblox metaverse.
