Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ) has revealed its plans to enter the metaverse by launching METADAFZ at the GITEX Global event 2022 which at Dubai’s World Trade Centre.
GITEX Global is where some of the world’s largest tech companies, start-ups and investors gather to attract investments by showcasing products and solutions.
According to Dubai’s Media Office, METADAFZ clients around the world can have meetings by using a virtual platform that’ll offer a “unique and semi-realistic” user experience no matter where they are.
Director-general of Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ), Amna Lootah said, “Since its establishment more than 26 years ago, DAFZ has succeeded in consolidating its position as a leading and innovative free zone, providing its clients with access to the most up-to-date technology and initiatives. This initiative, which bridges the gap between the physical and virtual world, will contribute to the digitisation of businesses in the free zone and support global businesses to establish themselves in the emirate, via a smooth experience.

It’s hoped that the move will place DAFZ at the heart of the technological revolution and enhances our presence as a regional and global destination for attracting direct foreign investments and as an integrated business incubator operating according to the highest, standards. The launch represents a significant step forward toward defining DAFZ’s technological and innovative identity in the digital world.”
This new initiative also provides an alternative that shifts away from the traditional way business activities are conducted and allows company representatives to discuss work prospects for the future as well as launching business and projects in the UAE city.

The metaverse experience is set to attract new clients and foreign businesses, in addition to creating new investment opportunities and enhancing the business framework.”
As the metaverse continues to grow and expand, DAFZ aims to use this new initiative to create not only investment opportunities but new possibilities for cross-border customers by using futuristic tools and tech solutions.
